Canada Express Entry is a fast-track immigration system designed for skilled workers who want to permanently settle in Canada. Launched in 2015 by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Express Entry manages applications for three major federal immigration programs:
π΄ Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) β For professionals with education, work experience, and language proficiency.
π΄ Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) β For tradespeople with experience in high-demand occupations.
π΄ Canadian Experience Class (CEC) β For foreign workers and international students with Canadian work experience.
Express Entry is points-based and operates through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), ranking candidates based on skills, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.
CRS Points and How They Are Calculated
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) assigns points based on:
π Core/Human Capital Factors β Age, education, language ability
π Spouse Factors β Spouseβs education, language skills
π Skill Transferability β Combination of education and work experience
π Additional Factors β Provincial nomination (+600 points), job offer (+50β200 points), Canadian study experience
A CRS score above 470β500 usually increases the chances of receiving an ITA in recent draws.
